Never let go of your dreams! They can lead you to experience many things in life. Jack Skibo had a dream for as long as he could remember to some day run his own business in automotive repair. He loved the challenge of diagnosing a vehicle problem, doing the repairs and experiencing flawless performance as the end result. He participated in the Chrysler Troubleshooting contest as a junior in high school placing 2nd out of 275 participants. He used this scholarship at Los Angeles Trade Technical College earning an AS degree in 1968. He actualized his dream in Chico.

It started with reading a classified ad in the Los Angeles Times. He picked up this newspaper one Sunday morning, which was rare because Jack lived about 50 miles from Los Angeles. He was an opportunist, so looking in the business opportunity section of the want ads in the local newspaper was always one of the first areas that he’d seek out. There it was this fine Sunday morning, “automotive repair business for sale” in Northern California. Lo and behold, his inquiries led him to Chico. The business was Boradori Automotive.

Boradori Automotive was established in 1948 by Alfred and Maurine Boradori.
The purchase to buy it from Al was finalized in July of 1976 causing him to pack up his family, wife Sharon, 5 yr old daughter Brenda and son Jeff (to be born, Oct. 1976) for the move to Chico. This was a giant leap of faith. For life was good and comfortable where they lived in Southern Ca. But it proved to be very prosperous and the best move of their lives.

Keeping Up With Technology For Another 60 Years. They believe this philosophy has made it possible to remain in business for so long. Jack & Sharon believe that maintaining this level of professionalism is very necessary because of all the new and constantly changing automotive components, not to mention computer control systems on the many different makes and models of vehicles today. Jack continues to educate himself on all the technological changes produced by the automotive manufacturers. Which is why they came up with their slogan “Keeping Up With Technology For Another Fifty Years. They believe this philosophy has made it possible to remain in business for 30 years in the same location.

So, hang on to your dreams, work hard, do what it takes to steer yourself towards them and they truly can become a reality.
